Overall Purposes of Role

To ensure accurate and timely processing of information returns and assist in the production of monthly management accounts.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

The responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant will include but not be limited to the following:
Supervision of the Purchase Ledger function including responsibility for checking statement reconciliations and payments forecasts
Preparation and posting of monthly overhead prepayments and accruals to Axapta
Ensuring the accuracy of data input into Axapta
Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
Reconciliation and reporting of monthly intercompany balances
Preparation of internal management information
Analysis of monthly contract profit performance including detailed variance analysis
Assist with forecasting and budgeting processes
Any other ad hoc duties as required

Personal Specification

Experience in a similar role
Experience of staff supervision
Strong IT skills with experience of accounting software and Microsoft Office with strong Excel spreadsheet skills
Excellent organisational skills
Must be able to work to tight deadlines with the minimum of supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills – comfortable presenting financial information to financial and non-financial managers
